Throe's prequel sprouted from the idea that Sofie had parents at one time and what better choice than Susanna and an absentee father. Since I was using Throe as a test character, I played around with the scenario of a husband and father riddled with guilt over his inability in preventing the brutal murder of his wife. Bent on tracking down the murderer, he leaves his child in the hands of the Dunmer in Windhelm. A series of events leaves Sofie orphaned. I abandoned the story shortly after I threw these words down.
