~ Code of Conduct for Tieline ~



This list is a work in progress as I learn more about Tieline as a person and grow accustomed to her style and motivations.

TENETS:
  • Conjuration - Will not use spells relating to necromancy
  • Illusion - Will not use spells that unwittingly alter the mind of the opponent
  • Alchemy - Will craft poisons and healing/restorative potions. Primarily will buy vs. craft
  • Smithing and Crafting - Will only hunt for pelts or other materials when needed. Purchasing of materials is also allowed. No smelting of weapons/armor
  • Worship - Daily meditation and reflection at dawn and dusk
  • Alcoholic Beverages - Strictly for use in Alchemy
  • Food - Will hunt for food and can purchase from merchants. Will attempt to only carry what is needed for a particular quest or for travel.
  • Traveling - While traveling I will try to follow some sort of timescale by rising at dawn to meditate before breaking fast and stopping to camp at nightfall. Meditation and reflection of the day will occur before sleep.

Weapons: Iron War Axe. Hunting Bow
In the traditions of her ancestors and the Sword-Singers, she will primarily use swords although she carries a bow for hunting. Her hope is to summon the Shehai but at the very least, create her "beautiful sword." [an enchanted ebony blade]

ORIGINS:
Sentinel, Hammerfell.
The city is an exotic retreat for the nobility of Daggerfall and Wayrest, who delight in the cooking, craftsmanship, and plays which can be found there. Many great and famous people throughout history have called Sentinel their home, including the renowned poet Weltan and the famous Redguard hero Cyrus. Sentinel is home to a School of Julianos. The Schools of Julianos are the temples dedicated to Julianos. Because Julianos is the god of wisdom, his temples are organized like academies. The Schools of Julianos are among the most knowledgeable research institutions in Tamriel, probably second only to the Mages Guild. The Knights Mentor comprise the military wing of the schools.

The School of Julianos is no mere temple, dedicated to mindless obeisance to a distant and hazy God figure. Julianos is a god, to be sure, but foremost he is a symbol of learning, logic, philosophy, and wisdom. We espouse no moral philosophy other than the goodness of knowledge. As the great Psijic once said, the power of ignorance can truly shatter mithril like glass. That is our enemy. Scholarship is a long and difficult journey, and Julianos does not tolerate those who wish to shorten it. However, He does bless those who generously donate to His School with a temporary increase in their magical skills. While we advocate literacy and education for all Tamrielans, our policy for those who wish to join the School itself is very stringent. We have little time to waste training the slow and the lazy.

NOTES:
Tieline lives a solitary life in pursuit of knowledge and artistry/crafting. That may be how she earns a living aside from certain quests/bounties. Of particular interest to her are books relating to her heritage.

Tieline is artistic and scholarly and takes the "myth" of the Sword-Singers to heart. She has studied the Way of the Sword. Her goal is to become an unparalleled warrior. She believes it is possible for her to become an Ansei of the first rank and is on a quest to achieve that goal. An Ansei of the highest virtue would wander and engage in battles, right wrongs, and end discord. Her hope is to summon the Shehai, a feat presumed unachievable since the Sword-Singers of lore.

A note on the Sword-Singers: "Through the forging of beautiful swords tempered with magic, their artistry and poetry not only survived but flourished." Ultimately, she will craft her beautiful sword and enchant it.
